Bernard Dooley
It is with great regret and sorrow that the NEC announces the death of General Secretary Bernard Dooley. Bernard was a great supporter of our movement and worked tirelessly in his capacity as General Secretary and St Helens Area Secretary.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday 27th May at 9.15 am Requiem Mass in St Austins RC Church, Heath Street, Thatto Heath, St Helens followed at St Helens Crematorium, Rainford Road, St Helens at 10.30 am, then back to Thatto Heath Royal British Legion, Scholes Lane, St Helens.
Family flowers only, but donations can be made to St Austin’s RC Church Garden of Remembrance.

Objects
- The NUL&SC encourages the social advancement
and political awareness of its members.
- The NUL&SC co-operates with the Labour
Party and the TUC on a wide range of issues, which affect
Clubs and their members.
- The NUL&SC provides such machinery as
is necessary to assist affiliated Clubs in all legal and
managerial matters.
- The NUL&SC promotes measures which are
advantageous to the welfare of Clubs and their members.
Constitution
- The NUL&SC is democratically controlled
by its member Clubs.
- Each Club is allocated to a geographical
Area Committee, to which it is entitled to appoint delegates
and attend meetings of mutual interest to Clubs.
- Each year the NUL&SC holds an Annual
Delegate Conference [ADC] to which Affiliated Clubs are
entitled to send Delegates. The policy and amendments to
rules are discussed at the ADC and the National Officers
elected.
- The governing body of the NUL&SC is
the National Executive Committee [NEC], members are elected
to the NEC by the geographical Area Committees.
